Conference May 18, 2010

The Swedish Fiscal Policy Council´s third report was published May 17. The report focuses on the global issues regarding fiscal policy and the uncertainties concerning the long run effects of the economic crisis. Other main subjects are the earned income tax credit and the government´s sickness insurance reforms. A conference was held in connection to the publishing.

The report was presented by Lars Calmfors, Martin Flodén and Helena Svaleryd. Invited commentators were Anders Forslund (Assistant Director-General and Associate Professor at IFAU), Cecilia Hermansson (Chief economist at Swedbank) and Karl-Gustaf Löfgren (Professor in economics at Umeå universitet).
