Press Conference May 15, 2008
The Swedish Fiscal Policy Council´s first report was published May 15, 2008. It included both praise and criticism toward the government. The earned income tax credit and the lowered unemployment compensation are expected to have positive effects on employment in the long run. However, the reforms in the financing of the unemployment insurance system and the real estate taxation have been ineffective. A press conference was held in connection to the publishing of the report.
